5 Simple DIY Projects to Add Value & Appeal to Your Home During Quarantine

If you're wondering how you're going to pass the time during this Quarantine and also work off some nervous energy when so much is out of our control right now, we have some great ideas for you! Not only do they add value to your home, they easy DIY projects that will leave you feeling satisfied and accomplished. You can even include any children that are home--get them involved in helping clean up the garden or with helping declutter their own spaces!

1. Paint

Changing up the paint color in any room to modern, stylish colors or classic colors can immediately change the vibe of your room and peak a buyer's interest. Often, buyers have a hard time visualizing their own styles in homes, this can be especially true if your paint colors are overwhelming. 2. Landscaping/Yard Clean Up

Cleaning up around the yard including picking up stick debris, cleaning/weeding flowerbeds, mulching flower beds, trimming back shrubs and trees (this is especially important around your house--make sure no trees or branches sit up against your house making it easier for pests to get in), and even painting shutters or exterior doors will immediately add curb appeal. Be sure to clean any porches and sweep away any cobwebs or debris from these areas.

3. Decluttering

Decluttering is a great way to add value to your home. Allowing prospective buyers to see the true value of your spaces by seeing it neat and organized allows them to visualize their own belongings. Declutter and organize all closets but declutter furniture from crowded rooms, as well. Your rooms will feel bigger and not only will this add value if you decide to sell your home, you will feel great seeing your space in a new and organized light. 

4. Deep Cleaning

Deep clean the surfaces of your home paying special attention to the areas such shower and bath tub enclosures that have mildewed and no longer come clean (these may need to be recaulked or grouted). Seeing a home that is clean and well taken care of with ensure any buyers know how well loved and well maintained your home is. Air out the house on any nice days and be sure to clean any curtains, bedding, etc. This will help with our current health scare and will give you security of knowing your home and space is clean from germs.

5. Repair Small Items Around Your House

Tighten up the creaky floorboards, repair or replace any doorknobs that don't function correctly, add lubricant to squeaky door hinges, replace burnt out light bulbs or light fixtures that don't work, tie up the loose ends on any other home improvement projects you've been working on.
